The Instagrammers who just designed a sports bra that actually fits

When Tash Oakley and Devin Brugman launched a swimwear line, they called it Monday Swim because they figured that if you’re wearing a bikini on a Monday, life’s got to be pretty good. But the duo soon realized that there was another outfit they were constantly pulling on at the beginning of the week: activewear.

And so the women who built an empire around bikinis (in addition to their line of fully adjustable, mix-and-match swimwear, they created the popular two piece-obsessed site A Bikini A Day) are now venturing into fitness fashion with Monday Active,  which launches May 16 exclusively at Bandier.

“We obviously love to work out and stay in shape, but as we started working more with Bandier, we realized how much more fun it is to catch yourself in the mirror at the end of an exhausting workout and love what you see,” Oakley tells us. “We wanted to create flattering and stylish items that would make us feel inspired and proud of our work every day.”

The six-piece collection ranges from $75 to $125 and is filled with black and white colorblocking for a streamlined—but still statement-making—look. “We wanted it to be that perfect combination of performance and fashion,” Oakley says. “We styled the leggings with high-waisted panels because we know women tend to gravitate towards that style, but we also wanted to keep the [Bikini a Day] motto in mind—once you put on your Monday Active pieces, you look and feel great, and you remember you’ve got this.” Sounds easy enough, right?

The LA-based duo also kept the realities of women’s bodies in mind when designing—starting with creating the Devin Bra that seriously fits all sizes (not only does it go from a 30C to a 36F, but Brugman tested all samples herself). That’s not all: It features adjustable back and shoulder straps, so it stays supportive throughout your workout and comfortable the rest of the day.

It’s specs like these that prove how committed the duo is to creating an authentic product. In fact, even Jenn Bandier, founder of the fitness fashion boutique, was impressed with their commitment: “The only piece of advice I offered was to think about what they could add to the market that was unique and missing, and the bra was a direct reflection of that,” she explains. “They were behind every step of the design process for the line.”

Clearly, their approach is already resonating with shoppers—when Oakley and Brugman posted a teaser about Monday Active, the line’s Instagram page quickly gained 10,000 followers. It’s safe to say that no matter the day of the week, you’ll want to pull on these pieces.
