Making things even more satisfying is a tip from healthy-living blogger Lee Tilghman of Lee from America, with her simple method for making clump-free cold-brew matcha. It’s clutch for when the temperatures soar—or, as the #lifehacks superstar put it in a recent Instagram post, “for those too-hot days where putting on the kettle isn’t even an option.”
First thing’s first: You need your fave matcha at the ready. In her IG stories, Tilghman says she’s partial to Ippodo Tea’s Ummon-no-mukashi blend and prefers any option sans sugar, but whatever emerald green powder you choose, just add one teaspoon of it to the bottom of a mason jar (or any beverage container with a lid). Next, drop in 4 to 5 ice cubes, add 8 to 10 ounces of water, and secure the lid on the jar.
To complete your creation, shake the jar vigorously for 30 seconds, which will effectively dissolve those annoying clumps, “no blender, whisk, or straining needed,” Tilghman notes.
