Watching animals practice self-care is the *ultimate* version of self-care

Whenever I see an animal do something cute—e.g. exist—you can count on me to take hundreds of pictures. Be they yawning, paw-shaking, or snoozing, I’m ooh-ing and aah-ing and snapping away. I’m not the only one, either. I don’t think anyone could even count how many Instagram accounts people have made solely for their pets, where photos of cats and dogs standing on their hind legs rack up more likes than I could ever hope get on my own page.

Could anything be cuter than that? Yep: Creatures practicing self-care.

Believe it or not, you’re not alone in your love of sheet masks, bubble baths, massages, and smoothies. Like a National Geographic host in search of a rare breed, I scoured the internet for examples of animals engaging in very humanesque self-care behaviors for your (and my) enjoyment.

Keep scrolling for some seriously cute creatures doing self-care… you’re welcome.

For more cuteness, these are the healthy it-dogs of Instagram. And this is how to do a dog workout (yes, really).
